As I said in a previous post, I as an American don't believe we are complete angels either. We get some things wrong and some things right. We are, after all, human beings just like the rest of the planet.

But there is one thing we do... we pour billions upon billions of our dollars into countries like yours (the EU countries do the same thing), for improvements to your infrastructure, and we rarely, if ever, get thanks for this. In fact, more often than not nowadays, we get bombed, shot, beheaded, etc. Yes, we have propped up regimes that shouldn't be in power, many times because of the fact that it is the lesser of 2 evils, the other evil usually being anarchy and chaos. We, through NATO, have a military presence in many EU countries and in Turkey itself. The need for this presence may have lessened since the fall of the Soviet Union, but the fact is that Europe hasn't had another major war between the various countries since we established that presence, and Russia and its former satellite states are currently struggling to assimilate themselves into the European community.

Incidentally, we removed approximately 500 tons of what is known as "yellowcake" from Iraq, enough to make many nuclear bombs. Bombs which would have been within easy reach of Istanbul and it's wonderful mosques. It was reported in The New York Times May 22, 2004 Issue (THE STRUGGLE FOR IRAQ: NUCLEAR MATERIALS; U.S. Announces It Intends to Move Tons of Uranium From Sealed Baghdad Repository By JAMES GLANZ (NYT) 1028 words Late Edition - Final , Section A , Page 10 , Column 1). No weapons of mass destruction? Maybe not, just the ingredients for them. We not only had a right to invade Iraq, we had a responsibility... we opened up the nuclear can of worms to begin with and we must do what we can to keep them from spreading.

Final note... our military and corporations are in your country with the blessing of your government... if you want us to leave, speak to your government.
