Just the tip of the iceberg . . .

Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Revolution in France*

Dr. Pipes,

It is with great sadness and foreboding that I predict what we're witnessing in France is but the tip of the iceberg.

The "disaffected" and "marginalized" Muslim "youths", torching their adopted country, are abslutely doing what so many of your readers are proclaiming: executing a hostile take over of a Western nation, through force & intimidation - with the aim of establishing an Islamic State in what we know today, as France - and Europe, as a whole, is next in their sights.

I, for one, do not believe this was/is simply a spontaneous outcry, brought on by social "injustices" and spread by "copy-cat" opportunistic anarcists.

The apologists and proponents of appeasement are in for a rude awakening and other countries' citizens and governments (with high Muslim populations), had better take note of the true intentions of the "rioters" and the weak French response. I can assure you the world's Islamic peoples are watching, with great interest and anticipation: gleefully licking their collective chops at the prospect of "victory over the infidels" in France - whose absurd PC policies have only encouraged and emboldened the purpetrators of this ongoing disaster.

The degree to which organized Islamic groups like al Qaeda are participating and/or leading these actions is unclear, thus far. There can be no doubt, however, that the hateful phylosophies they preach and the unrest they encourage are abundantly in evidence - and have had a significant influence on the participants.

France's government teeters on collapse - brought on by their pathetic leaders and cowardly policies. They had better wake up to the terrible reality of their situation, before it's too late - and "foriegn fighters" are streaming arcoss their borders to wage Jihad and to "free" the "oppressed" Muslims they have, so graciously, allowed in their midst.

We, who have been accused of racism, fear-mongering and bigotry, have the sorry pleasure of saying, "I told you so." But also, hopefully, a renewed sense of urgency and conviction in preventing such dreadful occurrences from spreading to our lands and our civilizations.

My great fear is that we will get no help, whatsoever, from our own idiotic press - whose PC mindset is as imbicilic as those who have brought on this catastrophe.

Please keep up the good work, Dr. Pipes. Your insightful articles and this forum are greatly appreciated.
