You are laboring under a misconception. Hitler was not a practicing Christian. Hitler and the Nazis despised Christianity; they advocated going back to pagan "roots" and many were into the occult. There has been much written about this; look it up.

Arabs were aligned with Hitler and the Nazis during WW2. Also, you might want to go back and reread the Qur'an and the Hadiths. Somehow you missed the 100 or so quotes in which Mohammed exhorts his followers to conquer, terrorize, and kill the unbelievers. Yes, the earlier Meccan verses are more peaceful, but they are abrogated by the more violent Medina ones.

Do all or even most Muslims follow this? Of course not. But the Salafist (or as you call them the Wahhabis) do. And for a variety of reasons, one being the wealth of the oil-rich Gulf states, the Salafist ideology is being spread all over the world via Wahhabi-funded mosques and madrassas (schools). They use ample texts in the Qur'an and Hadiths and various legal rulings from the four schools of Islamic jurisprudence to justify their intolerance and hatred for non-Muslims.

Christianity had its reformation; Islam desperately needs to have a reformation. However, that is very difficult due to the fact that the penalty under Islam for apostacy (Muslims leaving their religion) and criticizing the prophet Mohammed is death under Sharia law. There are some brave souls such as Ali Sina, and Hirsi Ali speaking out. They are under constant threat.

I've said it before and I will say it again. This is not "liberal vs. conservative." It is civilization vs. 7th century mentality.
