in response to reader comment: To the Grand Infidel.... Now that, Mate, is fun. First allow me to outline my individual Modus Operandi

Our dear Michel and you must pardon me the clueless you are attracting the usual Turkish propagandists and you do not even get it. You need to work on your ego!. If you wish to have a chat with a real ikhwani then go and have a chat with the fake Tariq Ramadan and let us see what he tells you and you know what? He will think that you are no more than a fool

Havas is no more than a propagndist shame on him and shame on you

>In the case of Turkey, a country I have indeed come to love a great deal,

Oh let me guess it must be the kebab right?

>my objective

Objectives or delusions? which one?

>was to offer some arguments as to why Turkey is not (yet) a lost case and thus maybe engage some Turks, helping to further the notion. I wanted to find out, if I was too naive, subjective, or if my own findings were confirmed. Believing that the Turks as a people at least do not deserve to be bundled in with the radicals of the likes of Iran et al, I wanted to "negotiate" here in this forum a more differentiated approach and help prevent them from further being driven towards the fundamentalist block. ( All this on a very insignificant scale of course.)

You want to "negotiate" with the propagandists? then good luck

Oh It must be the kebab

Mr demagogue Turkey can join the rest of humanity if the following happens

1. Turkey should admit past crimes aginst humanity and beg the Armenians and the Greeks and the Syrians to forgive them for their crimes against them

2. Turkey should apologize to all of humanity for the appalling destruction of the Byzantine Empire

3. Turkey should bring to occupied back Asia Minor all the Turkish settlers in Cyrpus and declare Cyprus as a Greek island again

4. Turkey should apolgize to all the people of the Middle East (Egypt, Palestine. Syria, Lebanon, Iraq) for their imperialism of these countries and making them basket cases for a very long time

5. Turkey should apologize to the people of those Christian boys that were abducted and converted to the religion of the Arabs and made them the janissaries that were a fighting machine and then sending them back to terrorize their own people

6. Pay compenation to the people of Armenia and Greece and Syria for all the atrocities inflicted on their people

7. Any Turks who do not like the above than they can pack and head back to central Asia and good riddance

Oh Turkey and the EU? I hope they do join and you know what? I see the the Armanians and the Syrians and the Greeks taking Turkey to the EU courts to get back what their people have lost!

Shame on you but I guess it is all about the Kebab! Oh did i just say kebab again?

Get a grip on reality
