in response to reader comment: Responsibilites of Liberty Not Embraced by 'Liberal' Sensibilties

As American of Swiss origin, I could not help myself nodding repeatedly when reading your piece. Paqrticularly amazing to me is, how even Europeans more so than ever "do not get" America (anymore).

Tragically, a huge demography, predominatly on the West Coast (to my utter shame California, my home state) plus the political class (elite) in DC and most East Coast capitals, represented by the likes of John Steward, Keith Olbermann, Matthews (the guy with the tinguely feelings up his legs, when listening to Obama), CNN, MSNBC, most print media and network news orgs don't "get" America either anymore.

Never before has our exceptional nation been so polarized. Quite actually the climate of political correctness is much more prevalent in the US, than in Europe, where at least some politicians seem to have the courage to shoot straight. My point is: our civil liberties and Freedoms ar domestically as much under siege, as they are threatened from abroad. As we lost the Vietnam war at home, it seems to me that we are in the process of losing yet another (undeclared) conflict on the home front with Jane Fonda being replaced by much more left wing liberal powerful people and organizations.

With friends of the likes of Olbermann at home, we do not need enemies anymore.

>>>>as there are people that are eager to praise such activity in an affront to the realities of real liberty and freedom.>>>>

I could not agree more.
