Reader comment on item: Islamist Turkey vs. Secular Iran?

This is exactly what it looks like to me when I look into the immigrant-mirror in Germany. Millions of turks who, regardless of the size of their community, not long ago began to search for their identity in the small and restricted world of sharia. The very small community of highly educated persians is desperately trying to explain to us westerners how dangerous all of this is, openly complaining about middle-age-style behaviour, so *they* say, on the part of orthodox muslims in the streets. As for the development of Turkey the million-population resident in Germany may even tip the balance in their home country.
