Great article

Reader comment on item: Islamist Turkey vs. Secular Iran?

Submitted by John in Michigan, USA (United States), Nov 30, 2010 at 03:55

This is the kind of mind-expanding article I've come to especially appreciate from Dr. Pipes. Islamism is a real threat, but nothing is inevitable, and Islam vs. the West is only one of many possible themes.

Islam was never a monolith; even Islamism is in flux and seems at times as likely to turn on itself as to unify and fulfull our worst fears. I look forward to continuing installments on the potential rivalry between Turkey and Iran.
