Reader comment on item: Europeans: From Venus?
in response to reader comment: America vs Europe

Why Americans don't visit as many countries as Europeans:

America is larger than almost all European countries. A German visiting France is like a New Yorker visiting Ohio, or something.

Why Americans don't know as many foreign languages:

Again, America is mostly bigger and there is less of a need to use foreign languages. In Europe you have English, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, etc. In North America you have... English, Spanish, and maybe French as the main languages?

Why Americans are more...:

America is unique compared to Europe. America didn't suffer as heavily through the World Wars. America is almost completely different from Europe. To say that America should behave like Europe is like saying Asians should also. The Europeans tout 'multicultralism' and don't expect them to... so why us? America is the only really religious rich country and its beliefs are more aligned with less developed countries than developed ones. Studies have proven this.
