in response to reader comment: reactions about Europe

Yes the EU is an economic alliance and sure enough If the United States felt threatened by such an alliance we would incorporate an American-Japanese alliance, or a North American alliance, or a western hemisphere alliance. The whole thing would be rather futile and extremely inefficient.

As far as the EU becoming a military power.....the simple fact is Europeans don't want to pay for it, or get into an arms race with the United States. I don't blame them theirs no point in it. We have the same Ideologies, and have a good history together. Europe would simply be getting into something that America should of gotten out of after the cold war.....and thats wasting its money on a continuing paranoia. Yes America is in the drivers seat, and yes we get sick of all the backseat European commentary while we drive but believe me I like to get chauffered around, and youre not even paying for the ride....

Our arrogance is a small price to pay for your leisure. Please someone else drive for just a minute I'm tired of working 45 hrs. a week and getting a week for vacation. You certainly have every right to your opinion but its American money, and American lives fighting our wars. You can cuddle up to the muslims all you want.... they're slowly invading your country and fighting you the only way they can....one baby at a time. Don't get me wrong I hate Bush and when we invaded Iraq I knew it would lead to a civil war.....We're throwing wild punches but Europe is sleeping with the enemy and you don't even know it.
