US defeated Germany?

Reader comment on item: Europeans: From Venus?

(Along the way, they conveniently forgot that this transformation was only made possible because U.S. forces defeated Germany.)

ok, so I'm from the Netherlands, Holland if you like. First of all, I agree with what you said about the difference between the US and Europe. but I got angry when I read the thing above. the US did NOT defeat Germany by himself. I'm not saying they didn't do anything, but they helped together with lots of other country's and I think it's arrogant to say the US defeated Germany by himself. I also think it's wrong saying germany, cos it really wasn't everyone in germany.

now my opinion on why europe hates the US:

ok so I'm just saying why I hate the US, but you can say this is europe's opinion, cos I'm from europe. I think hate is a strong word. but I really dislike the US, especially Bush and his government. so just you know, in europe, people think americans are not intelligent, are arrogant, and are way too emotional. (the OMG kinda people, think the oprah show>>>OMG I got a handbag) they are so arrogant because they think so high of themselves and really think the US is the best, and they only think about themselves (God Bless America) now about the government, I'm really scared of bush. there are things going on that are kept secret. people being tortured, and the government saying they don't think that's torturing people, but just neccesary cos that person might has important information. people: that is torturing! just things like that and just my feeling about bush. he's just a stupid farmer. that's what he is. but he's got way too much power. and that's scary.

I'm not here to shout hate in the world, but as you're interested in how people from venus think, this is how we think. I also like america (yes mixed feelings), because I'd love to see how america looks like and you know, hollywood and stuff. america's not all bad. but I prefer Canada because of the people there look more like europeans.

oh and one think I forgot about america we can't understand: it looks like there is no care. when you're poor in america, the government is like: that's not our problem, here you get money from the government so you can live normally without fear of having no money to eat. in america, they call it the negativ side of freedom. here it doesn't happen. there just are no really poor people here, because the government cares. we are just more social and less war.
