I can't believe some of the things Americans are saying, it seems to me they have an extremely arrogant and polarised view of the world around them. I suspect this is due to their biased media, overpowerful church (in god we trust? seperate church and state???) and heavy patriotism.

As an English citizen im insulted by the comments refering to American systems adopted by 'everyone else' I think you will find the 'American language' ENGLISH originated in, yes...UK, Brit pop was very popular in the 90's not to mention the Beetles and the Rolling stones! The justice system is a replica of the English legal system (Adversarial) a Parlimentary style of government is one of the widest forms used and yes orriginated in the UK.

As for the Americans never trying for an empire, if you read up you will find there was an extensive american expoditionary force in the south pacific which failed even to gain islands from technologically lesser developed natives (im English and i know this) and what about the complete distruction of the Native American way of life, american hands are hardly clean of attrocity.

Nazi Germany and Japan would very likely successfully invaded America if it didn't have the other allies helping out, let alone being able to end the occupation of France.

American Private sector and Government were one of the largest supporters of dictators and terrorist groups around the world (NSA & CIA) like a guy said on here they funded Al Quida. America has also funded the IRA in the past and im sure many other groups.

If people are going to rant about how supperior America is PLEASE rant with accuracy.

(if this is being proof read please remember that you have several articles on this discussion group that has an equally passionate tone, if you find this offensive please make alterations but remember that thing america adopted from the UK freedom of the press.)
