The thing that strikes me most about the current divide between Europe and America is that they don't seem to care. I'm sad that I find Europe laughable. Does that make sense? I love going to Europe, I love it's streets, food, languages, art. It saddens me how much I dislike their politics. Politics trumps all of those other things for me, it's everything. It's how you understand the world and people. Being a Jew as well as an American, I feel very unwelcome in the Europe of today. I am constantly being assured that it is just the elite journalists who harbor this hatred towards me but often I am proven right in my assumption that it goes deeper than that.
