Dear Moderate,

Thanks for the reply. ok, Everything you question happens to be from the torah (old testament) and also old law. We believe everything from the old testament, but Jesus came and so began Christianity so actually what youre asking about is Jewish Laws. I'M not a Rabbi but i'll see what i can do.

First let me give you an example of how the old law changed. First polygamy was allowed in the old testament as you might know King Soliman the wisest man at the time had 700 wives, In Chrisianity Jesus said 31. As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." (ephesians c This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself and the wife must respect her husband.(ephesians ch5:31-33)

ps. in Islam you guys still follow the polygamy system where a woman doesnt even have half the respect or intelligence of her husband, no matter how dumb he is.

Another example is the old jewish law of an eye for eye, tooth for a tooth. Jesus tells us however "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:38:45 RSV)

ps again Islam still teaches the old barbaric cycle of an eye for an eye tooth for a tooth system, sometimes without any provocation at all.

As far as any of the eating rituals are concerned, we have peter's vision which explains why we eat what we want. Book of Acts ch10:9-16

9 The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat."
14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean."
15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common." 16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

Also Jesus said it's not what goes in your body that defiles it, it's what's in your heart that defiles.
