So our dear M&M, who is either unaware of what Jihad is all about or is hoping that we do not know about the Arabic language and in effect he is saying: you guys have to believe me that jihad is not really holy war but wishy washy thing about "internal struggling. " He does not provide us with references from Arabic dictionaries, Arabic language grammar books or even from information from the Muslim masora and do you know whay? Because he knows no Arabic and he is only a wannabe Arab..
Now i urge the readers to check for yourselves my references. You can read the breakdown of the root JHD in Hans Wehr Arabic dictionary pages 142-143, and for a simple intorduction to the concept of the Arabic root system and the concept of F3L you can read "Arabic verbs and essentials of grammar" by Jane Wightwick and Mahmoud Gaafer and read in particular the so called Forms of the verb or F3L ( eg: Form II yafa33il and Form III yufaa3il and Form IV yuf3il and for this see page 40 and notice that yujahid or he fights a holy war is Form III and yajtahid or he strives to imporve is Form II and yes these two stems come from the same root JHD but they have different Form and therefore very different meanings) Those ignorant of the arabic langauge and of Arabic grammar and wannabe Arabs have no clue about the root system or how it does work and so Ijtihad becomes Jihad and Jihad becomes Ijtihad.
Now feel free to prove me wrong

>the ayat sent by various posters such as Noah Wilk are all pertaining to attacking the non believers if he transgresses upon you this is no way condone violence
This time we will examine Q9:29 and notice that sura 9 is the last revealed chapter of the Qur'an and based on the doctrine of abrogation (al-nasikh wa al-mansukh) any new dispensation in Sura 9 will abrogate earlier dispensations in the same subject matter so this is Allah's final word
Q9:29 (this is to be read in conjunction with Q2:216)
Qatiloo or fight
al-ladhina or those
laayu'minunan or do not believe
billah or in Allah
wala or and not with
bilyawmi al-akhir or with the last day
wala or and not
yuharimuun or and they forbid
maharama Allah or what Allah forbids (notice aspect)
wa rasulahu and his prophet
wala yadinuun deen al-haqq or and not follow the religion of the truth
min al-ladhina or among those
awtuu al-kitab those given the book (an allusion to Christians and Jews and may be to Hindus and Buddhists as the darling of Muslims Ms Armstong believes)
Hata or until
ya3tuu or they give
al-jizya or the tribute
3an yaddin I will leave this untranslated as this is very strange Arabic
Wahuman saghiruuna and that are small
Or: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the last day and do not forbid what allah and his rasul forbid and those that do not follow the religion of the turth and among them the people of the book until they pay tribute 3An yadd and they are little."
Or your allah is saying that:
1. Muslims must fight for no reason at all those who do not believe in Allah and those that do not believe in the Last Day and allows what Allah and his rasul forbid. I do not see anything about transgression here
2. And that those unbelievers must pay a mafia tax 3An yadd whatever that is
3. And who are those unbelievers? they are the jews and Christians as per 9:30 and the polytheists as per 9:4
So you see I do not see anything about your bogus "the non believer if he transgresses upon you this is in way condone violence".
So much for daunting Hercules.
