Dear Canadian Chris,

When you eliminate the values of Christianity, you are only destroying yourself, your civilization, your kids and your culture."

The values of Christianity are not exclusive to Christianity.

Article 1. of the UDOHR states that,
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 7.
All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

Article 16.
(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.

(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.

Article 18.
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Article 20.
(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

(2) No one may be compelled to belong to an association.

Article 26.
(1) Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.

(2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.

(3) Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

"The great civilization that you enjoy was built on Christians values,

While you are fighting Christianity, "

I am not fighting Christianity, I am fighting against ANY religion trying to become a political force to propagate its philosophy. A religion should exist on its merits and should be allowed to become history if its relevance needs to be dictated by government. Christianity AND Islam and any other religion, have no place in governmental policy other than the influence of the individuals and their individual faiths.

"which is your only refuge when you are down, you are willingly or un-willingly giving the power to an Ideology that will soon destroy you and us."

I am fighting against any ideology that would dictate my beliefs to me through the use of government. Islam included.

"The church has apologized for things happened in the past. let me see muslims one day apologize for not only the past but also the present. Muslims, even educated ones strongly believe that Islam is superior and was born to rule. I hope I will not see this day in the West, It is disguesting what we have lived through in our homeland as Arab Christians, now we are targeted even in what is called a Christian country.

The only solution I see it today, is go back to your roots if you have any,"

I agree, my roots are that I am a human being and as a human being, I believe that our relationship to god should not be dictated by any government.

" Christ asks us to love our enemies as much as we love ourselves, he asks us to respect marriage life, provide love and diginity to our children, support them, love them, create generations that build your community, live in harmony with others, provide help to all those who needs help, regardless of origin and faith. If this is harming you in any way, then I apologize, I was raised to be a good Christian which is a good human being, I will never change but will keep trying until people like you see the values of what the lord Jesus Christ brought to the world

Peace be with and lead your way"

I am in no way disagreeing with your assessment that Christianity has many good things to add to community but Christianity has no place in government other than being the choice of faith of many of the elected.

I am glad that your faith gives you so much hope and peace, but the thing that turns me away from Christianity as any kind of viable integration with government is that Christianity is simply another interpretation of the observable laws of nature and intuition. It is not the solution for me, and I will resist ANY and ALL attempts to coerce me to provide space for christianity in governmental policy. A generic God is good enough for me when swearing an oath or praying for others, because I know who I am praying to and it does not need to be government policy to define what god is. You would be surprised by the attitudes of your forefathers who you would call christians, many of them were free thinkers who took bold stands against dogmatic church interference in government. They preferred to simply recognize a supreme being who takes many shapes for many philosophies and ideologies.

Bless You Lisa
