Reader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options

Dr Pipes,

As I read your article I speculated on yet another point of view. Could the evangelical migration of Islam to Europe mirror the evangelical migration of Christianity to China? Could muslims be producing date-muslims in Europe much like Christians produced rice-Christians in China? Could we actually be seeing an assortment of fair weather muslims in Europe -- muslims, who shout loudly in defense of their faith but equally demand the lifestyle of their European existence?

I often hear the statistics garnered from the polls taken in Europe and the Middle East and wonder if the rhetoric matches the belief... In my opinion, I still think Islam is waning, not growing. Muslims the world over are running up a hill in order to fall off a cliff. When oil no longer runs the world's economy, Islam will retreat into oblivion.

Why do I believe this you might ask? I base this belief on the actions of the muslims themselves. The entirety of the Islamists (radical and moderate) have thrown everything into their faith. They offer nothing new or progressive to world, only more of the same... They don't seem to realize that our world is addicted to progress. That muslims in the tens of millions are surcoming to this addiction. And it is this addiction that will bring Islam to its end.
