A Fourth Option

Reader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options

A fourth option, which actually relates to Islamization of most other contintents also, is facing up to the economic dimension - namely the incredible and growing transfer of wealth from oil-thirsty developed countries into the hands of those for whom "civilization" is a hostile threat.

Rarely do I read in any of the commentaries trying to explain and predict the ongoing Clash of Civilization, surprisingly even Mr. Pipes', the effect of our growing energy dependence. Not even the recent London debate mentioned either oil, Persian Gulf stability, energy security, petrodollars, or the global financial debt system, which is transferring billions of dollars each day into the hands of those who wish to destroy Western Civilization. Each fill-up by a U.K. and U.S. citizen puts an unknown but unacceptable amount of money into the hands of terrorist-supporting states who simply wire those funds back to their zombie cells in the West. They are daily selling us the rope and we gladly pay the price (we send the terrorists petrodollars in order to shop for Chinese pleasure-goods with Sinodollars.

In my opinion, only with an absolute and immediate recognition and acceptance of the fact that Peak Oil is happening today will any chance of survival become available. The easiest read on this is "The Long Emergency" by James Kunstler or google "Peak Oil" in current news. Even he stated quite bluntly something which hardly any scholar dares to mention and that is the key reason we are in Iraq, have been in Saudi Arabia, helped remove the Russians from Afghanistan, and are torn about Iran is because of their past and current threats to the Persian Gulf and the 70% of world oil reserves which are located there.

Follow the petrodollars and look at which countries are hungriest for energy security and you will also see the countries undermining the West with open and secret trade deals with terrorist states. Even Thomas Jefferson's France is openly selling Iran nuclear technology in exchange for energy security and "protection- from-terrorism money." The choices those countries face is equivalent to selling their soul and future survival of democratic ideologies for immediate comfort and maintenance of the status quo via a humming energy intensive social structure. Europe would, if they haven't already, sell out Israel in a heartbeat for secure oil supplies, at any price. They have already sold out their support of America's war against Islamic Terror for friendlier relations with the their oil and gas suppliers.

The West and the Middle East are in the midst of a historic game of "Chicken:" We depend on a constant supply of oil and gas and they depend on the constant flow of petrodollars, especially since the Muslim countries produce nothing else of value. At least Israel is a mecca of Western technology and similar ideology. If we pull out if Iraq and let the world's energy-supplying countries implode, that would quickly take care of the growth of Islamic terrorism but would also put the West into a Depression. While Islamization of the West will certainly kill democracy with a slow boil, a Depression will cause it grievous injury that will take a generation or more to pull out of.

If your doctor were to ask you which you prefer: operate now and still have a fighing chance at surviving, or do nothing and die absolutely within 10 years, which would you choose? That is the kind of question our leadership is attempting to answer. We can drain the necrotic breeding swamps tomorrow or they will drain the lifeblood of freedom in the near future. Simply understanding our energy dependence is therefore the Fourth Option.
