Okay, I'm a Liberal, Gay and I Believe We're in trouble, What do we do next?

Reader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options

I've been reading for the last few weeks about all of this. Honestly, prior to that about the most thinking I did on Islam was to notice it seems to be in conflict in whatever land it takes root which caused me to doubt that it was a religion of peace. However, I've had my eyes opened and I'm scared.

I fear for all of those I love and for those who would be hurt by open warfare. I fear that the longer Europe and the USA take to acknowledge and respond to this crisis the worse it will be. I am very aware, as are many in the gay community, that Irag right now has sent out death squads for gays and that Iran has been on a search and destroy mission for some time. So please don't think that one must be a right-wing Christian fundy to see the problem here. Okay, enough said on that.

Now that we are seeing the problem more clearly, what do we do to get our fellow citizens and political leaders to wake up and take action?

I am glad to find websites which are addressing it and exchanging ideas. This is a great start. But we must find a way to escalate. Let's see if the strategies used by the Liberal Left to bring our attention to injustices will work to draw attention to the Islamic threat. Right now, at least in the USA and I think the EU too, it's the Muslims who are using these strategies most effectively. Let's fight fire with fire.

My community is a great example. When have you ever heard a Muslim Mufti or Mulla or what ever else they're called support gay rights. Help! I'm a victim of Gay bashing by Muslim extremists! Bad muslims! Okay, a little over the top and maybe corny the way I've done it here, but there are people who know there stuff on this. Let's get their help. In fact, this thought leads to the my original question and a beginning respond to "What do we do next?". It seems to me we all must get organized.

We all; Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Democrat, Republican, and all the various political parties in the EU, as well as gay, straight, male, female, old, young, convservative, and liberals and who know how many more groups, have a common threat from Islam. We must fight together or die separately.

I've been in insurance all my working life and I don't have the skills to develop non-profit organizations, find good development officers (capable persons who can raise hard cash), and find public relations experts. This is what the Muslims are doing well, and, so far, it seems any opposition is not.

Let's organize. Who is good with computers and can get a website up that we can become members of to promote orgnization across and between countries? Once we have that in place, we can beging to get physical local chapters started from which we can do education and demonstrations. Let's get people with money who have a lot to loose if Islam takes over to be some of those donors. Why not Bill Gates and the Wal-Mart family. They love their money, let's help them see it's in trouble. We want to be like TV commercials and have short hard hitting slogans that get advertised on billboards, in mags or on radio and TV (I'm being optomistc...) "Integrate or Emmigrate!" Thinkgs people will rememeber after the message is delivered.

I look forward to great thoughts and organizaion skills from us. Let's work together and save our countries. Someone has to start...let it begin with me and you, and then the next guy....
