Reader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options

Submitted by Rebecca E. Moulds (United States), Mar 2, 2007 at 10:48

Having read and re-read this article, I have come to the conclusion that none of us really knows what the future holds for Europe, as pertaining to whether or not there will be Islamic superiority, decline or integration. Although many people are concerned about this very serious issue, there are also those who cannot or will not be bothered enough to even think about such things, and therefore go about their lives in a haze of shallow thoughts, oblivious of what is happening in the world around them.

Sometimes there are legitimate reasons for this general lassitude, but mostly it's just plain old human nature. There are many things that we cannot change in this world, and knowing which things we can change and which we have no control over, that is the great question mark, dividing dumb acceptance from paranoia and intelligent change.
