Jesus brought us much more than just peace

Reader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options
in response to reader comment: What did Christ bring to the world other than Love and peace

Yes, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, did bring peace, but that peace is on the inside. For when He freed us from sin, we then have peace with God the Father, and ultimately, peace within.

However, Jesus also brought a sword. And that sword is the truth. For those who seek and love truth, the sword only cuts away the untruths. For those who hate truth and the light, they are pierced with the sword of truth. Many people hate the truth and so prefer darkness. In this way, men will then also hate those who bear the truth, like us who profess the truth is only found in Christ.

So, though I would love for all mankind to be at peace with one another, it is impossible. Jesus makes that impossible. For He stands at the door and knocks. He does not barge into the house. And only those who answer the door and open it to Jesus, can ever be at complete peace with those of us who answered the door previously.

Since we, the Christian, absolutely believe in Jesus, we therefore absolutely believe in what He said. And He said this: I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father BUT BY ME!. Now, how can anyone who does not accept this have peace with us who do? For we are telling them that their belief system is wrong. People don't like to be told what is right and wrong. They don't like it when I tell them Jesus is right, if they believe him to be wrong.

No my friend. There shall never be peace on this earth and the hatred of Christianity will continue to not only flourish, but ultimately bury us. This is written. It's all good.

For those who think the inquisition was committed by true Christians, you would be mistaken. Many proclaim to be Christians and are not. In the Bible, God says to many who have prophesised in His name and cast out demons in his name, this: Depart from me ye cursed, for I never knew you."

Interesting no? So, do not look at men and think Jesus is like most of them. No. He is like the few who traverse this earth with love and peace in their hearts. This is not to say we cannot get angry or even sin. Quite the contrary. We can seem to get quite angry, especially at sin. But you will know us by our love.

I confess that I have hated as well. This is not Christian walking. However, God is always there to forgive me, to discipline and correct me, and to refine me into the man He can be proud of. Of course, Jesus lives within me so God the Father is already very proud. Yet I, I am a failure in my body. For I do the things I do not want to do.
