Europe has lost its faiths but it hasn't yet lost the restraints dependent on those faithsReader comment on item: Europe's Stark Options Submitted by Sully (United States), Mar 15, 2007 at 19:01 It's been pointed out that Europe is post-Christian. And it's been pointed out that it has lost faith in the absolutes of the enlightenment in the face of Islamic certitude. What Europe hasn't yet lost is the sense of moral restraint that is dependent on the two factors above. Once that goes the population of Europe will sort things out one way or another. The Muslims will act from religious certainty against any who stand in the way of the dominance of their God and Prophet, and the non-Muslims will act without compunction or restraint against anyone who threatens them. The young generation of Muslims is being raised to fear Allah, respect the Koran and hate infidels who refuse to recognize its preeminence. The young generation of non-Muslims is being raised to respect nothing but self interest. The eventual clash will be an interesting social experiment. Europe, of all places, should recognize that there potent and more dangerous forces aside from religion.
