Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)

Submitted by Karimi Karim (Algeria), Jun 10, 2013 at 10:29

Throughout the history of islam as religion, there has been lot of misinterpretations that led to the eternalization of the status quo. Yet, all regimes and dynasties that followed the death of the prophet have shown their will to instrumentalize islam to gain the silence of muslims. However, it is of central importance to say that the solution begins when the problem begins. And the problem begins withing these totalitarian regimes and ideologies because these regimes and ideologies were and are behind the misinterpretations of islam. I think that the work must begin by deciphering the attempt to steal islam and to create a kind of homogeneity of reading the text and then by creating new texts that took the place of quran. The evil resides in the totalitarian regimes and ideas.
