Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)

Submitted by Tom (United States), May 13, 2013 at 10:18

What went wrong? From our perspective, nothing was right to begin with. If being a moderate Muslim has no connection with koranic injunctions of violence and hatred towards unbelievers, particularly the Jews (the main reason that the Islamic world , and now even in the west Muslims are in a state of chaos) then we in defending such a hateful ideology with patronizing statements like "....Being a Muslim then meant belonging to the winning team...", are making things worse, by not only lying to the world ignorant of Islam's true agenda (surah 9:29), but even ourselves. I'd much rather be on a losing team that values human life above any ideology, than on a so-called 'winning' one with a false sense of superiority complex, and a divine mission to subdue all those who oppose it's barbarity. If we apply consistency to Islam we will be forced to admit the truth about what lies beneath it's faux religious facade.
