"Islamism"

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)
in response to reader comment: Terrorism is Normative, nor "Radical" in Islam

Dear Uncle Vladdi,

I believe "Islamism" to be a neologism used to nominate the movement to impose Islamic theocracy upon the entire world by stealth, demography or force. But that movement already has a name: Islam.

Surah Al-Anfal 8.39 dictates perpetual war on pagans until fitna ceases and only Allah is worshiped on a global scale. But where government are concerned, if it ain't Islamic, its unjust by default and the normative condition under it is fitna.

Surah At-Taubah 9.29 dictates perpetual war on scriptural religions until they are subjugated and extorted so they live subservient to Islam in humiliation. 9.33 says Islam must be made superior i.e. dominant. In the third chapter of Muquaddimah, we learn from Ibn Khaldun that Muslims are obligated to impose Islam on the world. In the tenth page of Jihad In Islam, we learn from Maududdi that Islam seeks to destroy all non-Islamic governments. Those statements are clues for the clueless. "Its Islam, Stupid.".

BTW, your comment is a little long and detailed but spot on :).
