Islamist and not-Islamist

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)

Submitted by Ameer (Istanbul) (United States), Jun 4, 2013 at 21:50

Mr Pipes could not label the majority of non violent Muslims moderate, only not ─░slamist. Frank Sesno director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at the George Washington University in a recent TV interview about the use of such words by journalists, questioned the impreciseness of commonly used words such as Islamist. Islamic and even terrorist. The effort by the administration to confine their use to dictionary definitions has drawn criticism as being "politically correct" rather than calling "a spade a spade".

Perhaps what we need is a dictionary ... to bring clarity as to how the various appellations e.g. "jihadis" should be used so as not to be too soft on Islam
