Hope is not a strategy for change

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)

Submitted by Barry Wolfe (United States), May 13, 2013 at 10:27

We have no Churchill speaking the words necessary to lead the world leaders and nations that the West must defeat the radical Islamists on the battlefield. The Cold War tactics of the past decades have not worked. We must identify our enemies as we did in WWII and unconditionally defeat them into surrender. In the meantime their teachings to their next generations need to be eliminated and replaced with the truth.

Where are the 85-90% of Muslims insisting on this change? Are their no devoted and skilled cadres who have the courage to have an impact among the majority of Muslims?

Daniel Pipes replies:

We agree. I call for defeating the Islamists as we earlier defeated the fascists and communists.
