Interesting conversation above. I would just like to add that Allah created two sides of everything, so we can tell which path is better. You need contrast to tell the difference between two things. If there was no sadness, we won't be able to feel happy. If there was no night, we won't be able to tell the day from the night. Just like that Allah created impurities, so we can tell the difference between them and what is pure for us, and choose the better option. :)
