Claire, a confusing messageReader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law Submitted by Infidel (Canada), Apr 15, 2008 at 21:31 I appreciate your response, thank you. Unfortunately, your message is confusing me. I had assumed that the Bible was written by "Prophets and Apostles", who wrote in accordance with the words of GOD's inspiration. Now you tell me that "ancient sacred books are a combination of metaphor, analogy, allegory, folk wisdom, culture, etc. So how in the world would I know what a scripture means, when scriptures may be a "metaphor, analogy, allegory, folk wisdom, or culture". Interestingly, at least to me, is that I've 14 different translations of the original Greek and Hebrew Bible and in spite of the different words, the meanings are all the same. If I believed that the Bible was a combination of, "metaphor, analogy, allegory, folk wisdom and culture"; I would assume that studying the Bible would be a hopeless task, for how can I tell the differences? Why in the world would the "Almighty GOD" expect us to obey HIS instructions, if we can not understand the truth and value of the words of the BIBLE?
