Enemy of AmericaReader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law Submitted by Imam Ahmed Syeed Ali Muhammed (United States), Mar 28, 2008 at 12:07 I'm an Enemy of America?? Hmmm.... Well I doubt that seriously since I have served this country proudly in the Navy from 98-01, and I was a muslim at that time. I think both Christianity, and Islam can look at the past events of thier faith, and feel some shame as to what people who called themselves christian, or Muslim did. But that's why we study the past, to learn from it in hopes that we can avoid making the same mistakes in future generations. Which is why I talk to both christians, and fellow muslims about having interfaith dialogues, and how we interpet scripture. It's why I became an Imam, because we are having more Men in that position teaching these young Men it's ok to blow up buildings, and fly commercial airliners into buildings in the Name of Allah. This is what the muslim community needs, More Imams' stepping forward to teach Muslim youth what Islam is really about, not Terrorism. It's one thing to just quote the Qur'an, but quite another to study it. any literate person can read the Qur'an, quote a few verses, and say they understand it, and never really get what it is trying to really say. But to truly know the Qur'an you have to approach it with an open mind, and heart. I don't feel my article was foolish, I spoke my mind about what I feel the Muslim community needs in order to peacefully co-exist with the west. I have 4 young children who are very intelligent, and are always asking questions about terrorism, and about things they see going on in the world, and the last thing I want to teach my children is to hate someone for any reason. I want them to know that just because a person is of a different faith, or culture that doesn't necessarily mean they are a bad person.
