See the response given by Syed Mohammed Ali to Ramirez, where he says that in Mosaic Law, dog is an unclean animal.

If they are 'following' Mosaic Law, then the camel too is unclean. You can read it in the Book of Leviticus (Lev.11:4) of the Torah: 'You shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you.'
