Thank you, Plato, for the interesting site you posted.

It amazes me that every time I have seen Muslims confronted with this aya, 9.111, they excuse it away or gloss over it completely (read Imam Ahmed's response).

Ex-Muslims, including those who read Arabic, are the only ones who admit the aya for what it is; and of course, "radical" Muslims do also.

This, in my view, is micro-cosmic of the larger problem - "moderate" Islam turning a blind eye to the violence within their own religion. And then, of course, there's "Taqiyya" - I wonder what excuse Imam Ahmed would give for that?
