Oil . . . Oil . . . Oil!!

Reader comment on item: Civil War in Iraq?

Submitted by S Jacobs (United States), Mar 3, 2006 at 09:25

A civil war about religion? . . . I think not!

IMHO it will boil down to be a civil war over control of the oil, with an eventual "accommodation" taking place amongst the remnants of Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, Japan, W. Europe, the USA and the World Bank as to who gets what proportion of the oil revenue and how the same is safeguarded and guaranteed.

But down the road -- actually, it's here now -- comes the Thorium to Hydrogen Generator, among other alternative energy sources as the demand for oil diminishes along with the latent admission that its source is actually abiotic, i.e., made naturally within the Earth, wherein an endless supply will always be available. The "Peak Oil" hoax will be thrown into the ash can of history, along with the Piltdown Man, the Shroud of Turin, and the power of OPEC. Unfortunately for what will remain of Iraq, so will its oil revenue.
