Reader comment on item: Civil War in Iraq?
in response to reader comment: Overview of Iraqi Violence and US Response

Submitted by Shmuel HaLevi (Israel), Mar 1, 2006 at 11:35

Over the years here in what is left of Eretz Israel, following a sucession of pseudo leaders exposing collectively an incredible and consistent ability to self destructive incompetence, at least that, I realized that the Islamic War was never understood either here or in the US.

We keep on making plans, developing tactical activities, trumpeting about democracy, etc, while the enemy develops its well planned strategies all over us. Islam, and in particular Iran and Iraq, are transparent sources of evidence that we do not have now or never had before doctrine or strategy at all vis a vis Islam. We proved repeatedly that we have not defined the enemy, and then naturally we cannot fight it and defeat it. We identify "terror" as the enemy... Really now?!?!

And in the end and in fact and amazingly, we incorporate the real enemy into our very life lines, both here and in the US. Europe is not any longer relevant in that context as it is throughly compromised. No entry strategy, no occupation valid strategy and no exit strategy. What we do have, both of us, is the blind and oil soaked leading the silly right into the real enemy's Islamic nets.
Israel must select WINNING Jewish leaders and the US must define its basic goals with clarity.
The degree of equivocation and plain stupidity so far shown, if not worse, are likely to cost us all millions of people killed and huge loses.
