Reader comment on item: Civil War in Iraq?

Submitted by Jane O (United States), Feb 28, 2006 at 18:07

It has been a long standing practice of communist/socialist cells around the world to demand "freedom" or "independence" before a society was ready to handle it. It seems this is happening again in Iraq. The insurgents create chaos so that they can take control without the arms, men, and expenditure required to fight a true war. This is a well tried and successful pattern. If we back down and allow it to happen every time we are in trouble, where will they stop? The communist /socialists' aim was, and still is, to surround the United States with socialist regimes. They encourage, promote, and sponsor protests and riots everywhere. To such men it doesn't matter who the complaining minority is–Blacks, Muslims or South American Natives–chaos is chaos–civil unrest and anti-American riots help those who want control, so that they can swoop in and take advantage of bad situations. (At some point weary citizens just want the fighting and chaos to end. They don't care who ends it.)

Reclaiming our heritage and true history would be a good start. Anti-Americans have worked at smearing and destroying American history and accomplishments for the last hundred plus years–always "for the better good of society." We still have the best standard or living and freedoms in the world–let us not forget where we came from and what it took to get here. If we always give in–we too will lose what we have–not just what we want for others.
