Reader comment on item: Civil War in Iraq?
in response to reader comment: The moral, legal and administrative responsibility of the occupier

Submitted by Vic Coffey (United States), Mar 1, 2006 at 02:53

Lamenting the results of our past elections does nothing to add light to the current situation. Seems the tab for our reconstruction efforts now exceeds $80b and the blood of over 2k of our best and bravest. The truth is no amount of money or troops can add civility to the Iraqi mind. Mr. Pipes is right, if the Iraqis refuse to act in their own self interest, there is nothing the US or even G-d himsef can do to help them!
