in response to reader comment: Conservatives support free speech when it benefits them.

"Which brings me to my next point. As there are many types of conservatives, such as Western and Muslim conservatives, why is it that it's okay to be a Western conservative, but it's not okay to be a Muslim conservative (i.e. a radical, a fundamentalist, an extremist, an Islamist, or whatever other terms you have for them.) Why must all Muslims be "moderates", while it's okay for Jews, Christians, and for now, Hindus to be conservative ? Why the double standard?"

because hindu and christian conservatives dont praise fellow worshippers who cut people's heads in front of a camera while reading verses of their holy books. that is considered a crime in free societies, not something to condone or celebrate.

because hindus and christians conservatives, don't promote highjackings of airplanes, buses and suicide bombings, muslims conservatives are the only ones doing this in the 21st century. meanwhile the rest of the FREE world (China is getting there) are BUSY planning how to defeat poverty, end oil dependency with middle east, get to mars, trying to understand the string theory, or preparing for mining the moon.
