Quotes over Islam

Reader comment on item: The Clash to End All Clashes?

Dear Sir,
I am sending you a quote by a Honorary American Citizen, who was also a Nobel Prize winner of Literature. He wrote it in 1899 and it eloquently defines the problem the west is experiencing at the moment with Islam.

Quote :-
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
.. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

Sir Winston Churchill ( The River War)

Another quote by that venerable Gentleman defines perfectly with a policy of apeasement, and the lack of moral fibre, the path, that most of our Western Governments are now following. He forsaw clearly where it would lead. His anti apeasment policy, wanting to use force, to force Germany to get out of the Rhineland, when Hitler and his minion occuppied it in 1935, might have saved the world 56,000,000 dead. It is esential that we stand up for our values and rights, especially Politicians, even if it does enevitable in the end, lead to them having to vacate there seats of power, as it did for him.

Quote :- An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last

I am an old englishman and have on many occasions disagreed with American politicians, my right to grumble, but there is one I can assure you I concur with one hundred percent and that was Patrick Henry, when he said give me liberty or give me death. Please accept my deep regards, you are performing a magnificent service free speech,

Yours Respectfully
David John Wigley
