Harrak, I don't agree with everything you say, but you are 100% on the mark when you say that the American people have the right to say "enough" to this marriage with Saudi Arabia. We are long overdue for a divorce. We are literally funding the very same people who want to destroy us. I just about choked on my supper when watching the news and seeing our president holding hands with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. You cannot know how offensive that is to most Americans. Even though I know that the Saudi government's official policy is that they are aiding us in the war on terror, you'd have to be really dim to not understand that Saudi Arabia is the epicenter of Wahhabism and is using their petrodollars to radicalize entire populations of Muslims worldwide.

We are just stuck to them because of the oil, though. US oil companies have great interests in Saudi Arabian oil. That is why I was elated (and that would not be an exaggeration) when the president acknowledged our "addiction to oil" in his recent State of the Union address. He went on to talk about our need to develop alternative energy sources within the next 20 years. Couldn't be too soon for me. The sooner the better. I just hope that it is not more rhetoric. Both Democratic and Republican administrations over the past 35 or so years have been woefully negligent in addressing this problem which I believe is most important to our national security.

One more interesting point: I understand that the Saudi media did not report on this most important aspect of Bush's speech. I found that fascinating.
