Reader comment on item: The Clash to End All Clashes?

Mr. Pipes,

I can not agree with your assertion that there is no clash of civilizations simply because there are some (however few) enlightened individuals in the Muslim world. I believe a more realistic way to look at the situation is by the preponderance of individuals in the East vs West who hold to opposite world views.

The vast majority of individuals in the Muslim East hate western society and conversely the vast majority of individuals in the West do not want to submit to the barbarism that would result if Islam were to overrun the West (which is their goal). Therefore, I believe what we are seeing is very much a clash not of civilizations but a clash of civilization versus the barbaric and MOSTLY UNcivilized East.
