Dear Dr. Pipes,

I disagree with the voices in the west who expressed sympathy for Khomeini. I am particularly
disappointed by Georges Sabbagh´s incomprehensible reasoning. To think he
lectures at UCLA, one of my favourite schools - and teams.

As for your conclusion, it leaves an opening for hope. If the Muslim world
will ever, in fact, be modernized, this would be a welcome development.
