Yo, Luigi, your comment that "Japan and the EU are falling apart due to lack of religion" is wrong on so many levels, where do I start? How about here: By pointing out the Japan is a very religious nation wherein most of its citizens are either Shinto or Buddhist.

As for the European Union, well, while it is true that Europe has a larger percentage of non-believers than does the USA, that is true only if you don't count the overwhelmingly Catholic populations of Italy, Spain and Portugal. There is also a strong Catholic presence in Poland, from whence came our last Pope, John Paul II.

Second point: We should note that the overwhelmingly religious population of the USA now comprises a society that is, for all practical purposes, "falling apart," if your comment was at least in part a reference to economic conditions. Third and last point: No nation ever ceased to survive because it stopped believing in an imaginary deity living in the clouds. However, some have passed from view for harboring such unsupportable belief systems.
