Reader comment on item: Barack Obama and Islam: An Ongoing Saga
in response to reader comment: A not so private nightmare

Nah, Deianira,

I don't think so at all.

Here I am guessing, and it's altogether possible I'm falling for His Blankness causing people to think what they will --

But -- and again -- purely a guess -- it looks to me he isn't really religious at all and doesn't trouble himself much about theology.

While he has many many Muslim family connections through his two fathers, his siblings, etc. -- he was raised a Muslim (yeah, he denies it, but it's obviously so) -- he has many, many connections who are not only Muslims but Heavy-Duty Islamists -- Khalid Al Mansoor who was influential regarding Obama's education, and many, many others --

He owes much to the Muslims as far as getting him elected, and he sees nothing "off" about CAIR, MAS or ISNA, NOI, etc. He behaves as if he's never heard of Legal or Stealth Jihad. He loves the UN. I will bet that he will be in favor of "hate speech" laws modeled after that of the UN. Were he to have a say about the Minnesota Taxi Drivers, I've no doubt where he'd stand. And on and on.

So, ultimately, the way it plays out -- would he be much different than if he were actually Muslim now? Something to think about.

I just don't see him doing a big conversion -- except under one circumstance --

That would be if it would advance him politically or financially. If conversion back to Islam would advance his career, and he felt it would be comfortable personally, he'd change in a flash, just as he converted to Christianity and attended Wright's church because it helped him professionally -- and he didn't find it unpleasant.

For the moment, there doesn't seem to be an advantage for him to do that. After 4 years for the next election -- who knows where the country will be by then?
