Sofa Sogood syas:

""Is Muslim chic in the future?""

By definition fads do not last long. I can see the appeal for the marginalised in temporarily adopting a one size fits all religio/political system that seems to have everything superficially covered.

It's like an an 'initiation' into a boy's club - an oath of allegiance to a 'brotherhood' , a exotic new culture,
foreign words with secret meaning, a fairytale cosmology and what's more they get to wear funny clothes and hats - making them feel more 'special' than they ever have in their lives previously.

But accepting the absurdities has to become a real challenge. There are already many, many cases of Western 'converts' to Islam becoming totally disenchanted with their new lifestyle especially in the UK and Germany. You can put that down to people having been brought up with freedom finally realising they're buying into something which is its antithesis.
