Islam's contribution to global conditions

Reader comment on item: [U.S. Intelligence: ]"Moslem States Represent a Potential Threat to World Peace"

Submitted by Michael Kurtzig (United States), Feb 13, 2006 at 11:27

There is not much that is surprising in the article. I for one continue to ask what has Islam or Moslems done recently to improve the global condition? DId they discover the cure for Polio, I don't think so; are they coming up with a cure for AIDS, did they invent the cell phone, not that I am aware of, do any live under an undisputed democratic government, can't name one; have they done anything to advance medicine, the sciences, the improved production of food, the more efficient use of fossil fuels, I don't think so and the list goes on and on.

The one thing they have done is to slowly but surely move into our countries which foster democracy and freedom and in the case of Europe, they are trying to change or threatening systems which are anathema to their thinking. In other words, they have come into our midst to attempt to foist their... existence on us; for Europe it is a demographic nightmare which will not get better. If anyone has something positive to say, I am all ears.
