Islam incompatible with the modern world

Reader comment on item: "Moslem States Represent a Potential Threat to World Peace"

Submitted by PracticalGuy (India), Apr 15, 2006 at 16:23

There are fundamental differences between the Muslims and the rest of the world. The very basics are different. The goals are different.

I thing there should be high level decisions made so that Muslims are seperated from the rest of the world - relegated to the so called Islamic countries where Shariah rules. And all the others can live in peace in democracies and free thinking countries. I am not saying that one is better than the other - both are ways ahead for a civilization. Its just that separation is essential right now.

Muslim immigration to democratic countries should be stopped and westerners should stop visiting islamic states. The only contact will be trade, which will be mutually beneficial - this seems to be the only activity that seems to flourish between the two sides!!

So be it ! I can see the world heading towards such a separation. You live your lives (Haj, Namaz, Madrasas, build mosques, dress strictly, practice polygamy, chop hands of offenders, listen to fiery mullas etc) while we live ours (create technology, explore space, drink beer, attend rock shows, vote and sometimes elect stupid presidents, eat pork, go on dates, draw cartoons etc).

Perhaps we can send each other a postcard once a way ! And there will be true peace....
