Canadian Islamic Congress

Hello Mr. Pipes, you should check out what the Canadian Islamic Congress is quoted in the Ottawa Citizen today (Feb 19,05, A1, A2), in reaction to the PM's gaffe about Syria "keeping the peace" in Lebanon. They agree that this is Syria's role in Lebanon (so much for the recent UN SC Resolution requiring Syrian troops to leave Lebanon); that our government should "moderate Washington's aggressive and dangerous policies against Iran, Syria and Lebanon" otherwise this "would lead to more death, destruction and human misery in the Middle East" (sounds like a parroting of Iran's threat of worldwide terror if they are attacked, no?), and, "America's aggressive Middle East policies are designed primarily to shore up Israel's military power and economic advantages in the region, while attempting to divert world attention away from Israel's territorial expansion into the West Bank thorugh illegal Jews-only settlements." (the economic comment displays ignorance of the power of a free market, unknown in the Arab world, and the Jews-only bit is highly ironic as the Arabs demand that all of their territory be judenrein.

This appears to be typical Islamist nonsense, but they do claim in the article that they represent 70% of Canada's approximately 700,000 Muslims (highly doubtful that they have that many "card carying" members, I would think...)
