the hindus( (kashmiri Pandits) left the kashmir on behest of then Governor of kashmir, Mr Jagmohan, who planned genocide of Muslims in the sate to curb uprising. Unfortunately for him this all went against him, and hindus who had left the valley could not come back.

Daily thousands of hindus vist kashmir as tourists and pilgrims. had there been any such animosity towards the hindus in the region than they would have migrated in 1947, when maharaja fled the state.
