Reader comment on item: Anti-Semitism Evolves
in response to reader comment: 90th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Submitted by Lee Shinett (Turkey), Apr 19, 2006 at 13:31

I am becoming increasingly impatient with the attempts of Armenian pressure groups to borrow from the credibility of the holocaust for their claims - all their efforts seem to be geared up towards tying their case in with the Jews.

How does an Armenian write an ENTIRE book called "Hitler and the Armenian Genocide" without mentioning a speech or text in which Hitler even mentioned the Armenians? My apologies - it does mention that one bogus "who today remembers the Armenians" quote that has been used to desecrate the Holocaust memorial in Washinton.

I read Mein Kampf, no mentions of Armenia - I have read Hitler, A Study in Tryanny - no mentions of Armenia - I have read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, no mentions of Armenia other than an indepth analysis of the "who remembers the Armenians" quote that concludes it is "probably an embelishment by someone who was not present".

Jews were not killed because they were massacring German villages for Russians - they were killed because they were Jews. The killing of Jews was not restricted to the areas of conflict - they were being killed whereever they existed. Jews were not deported to places so they could no longer aid German enemies - they were deported to be burnt in ovens.

Call me paranoid, but I am getting the impression this is some insidious European supported campaign to find equivalence with their actions. "Turks inspired the Holocaust" has become their catchphrase in absolving themselves of their actions. When will this become "Poor gullible Hitler led astray"?
