May I dare to disagree?Reader comment on item: Anti-Semitism Evolves Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Feb 15, 2005 at 07:54 It is true, anti-Semitism is now left-wing and Muslim as opposed to right-wing and Christian. And since Europe is very socialist, secular and pro-Muslim, that is why we have got a lot of anti-Semites here. European socialists are, indeed, anti-Semitic and there is no excuse for that. But comparing the situation of European Jews to the exodus of Arab Jews from the Muslim world, that seems a bit too much. Indeed, anti-Semitic incidents have taken part in France and other areas/countries with large Muslim populations. It is also true that European socialists and liberals excuse anti-Semitism, and shame on them for that. Anti-Semitism is horrible and disgusting. But, Mr. Pipes, how can you compared Europe with Muslim countries? Do you realise what you are saying? Although, Europe is full of liberals, socialists and Muslims, you cannot compare us to Lybia, Algeria or Iraq. I cannot foresee any suicide-bombers in European cities, let alone the killing of innocent Jews. However, I wish to apologize for European anti-Semitism just the same.
