The problem with this articleReader comment on item: Anti-Semitism Evolves Submitted by Johnny Carpati (United States), Nov 13, 2005 at 19:36 This is a good article but its main flaw is the myth of Ottoman benevolence. The Ottoman cancer was ostensibly more benevolent to Jews than Catholic Europe, only to subjegate them and take credit for their contributions to society. They basically used them like slaves or prostitutes. They also did this to the other two groups who came up with the innovations credited to the barbaric Ottoman Empire, the Persians and the Orthodox Christians. The Ottoman Empire was not a benevolent and enlightened civilization, it was a wildfire of a terror state comparible to the Soviet Union. I would agree though, that the attitudes of this new Islamism have more in common with the phobia of Jews of medieval Catholic Europe that was later elevated and inflated to horrific proportions by Hitler than the ruthless "pimp state" that was the Ottoman Empire.
